What to Expect
We know that visiting a new doctor can feel overwhelming. Here's a simple walkthrough of what your first appointment will look like.
Arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork
Bring your photo ID, insurance card, and a list of current medications
A medical assistant will take your vitals and review your history
Dr. Mitchell will conduct your exam and discuss any concerns
You'll leave with a clear care plan and any necessary follow-up scheduled
Insurance & Policies
Payment
Co-pays and deductibles are due at time of service. We accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and cash.
Insurance
We participate with most major insurance plans. Please bring your insurance card to every visit.
Cancellation
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee.
Prescriptions
Refill requests require 48 hours notice. Please contact your pharmacy for urgent needs.
New Patient FAQ
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed for most services. However, some insurance plans may require one—please check with your provider.
How long is a new patient appointment?
Initial appointments are typically 45-60 minutes to allow time for a comprehensive review of your health history and concerns.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. We welcome a support person at any appointment. Please let us know if you'd like them in the room during your exam.
Do you offer virtual visits?
Yes, we offer telehealth consultations for certain follow-up visits and consultations when appropriate.
What if I'm running late?
Please call us at (214) 297-0008 as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you, though excessive delays may require rescheduling.
